Elizabeth Kay, Author
Elizabeth Kay, author of the Divide series, was born in 1949 and lives in Surrey, England. She has wanted to write since she was four. After school, Elizabeth went to art school and did her foundation year at Epsom, then fine art at Nottingham after which she began teaching part time. After having her two daughters, Elizabeth taught part time and began writing radio plays and short stories. A sudden urge to get back on the other side of the desk led to a creative writing MA at Bath Spa University.
Elizabeth has won several prizes, including the Cardiff International Poetry Competition, and the Canongate Prize. Her advice for aspiring authors? ‘Just do it. You learn far more from your mistakes than you ever do from someone telling you how to do it.'
